As an artist I have a varied and interesting career. As well as undertaking residencies and commissions I often initiate my own projects. This enables me to work in a versatile and creative way, adapting to complex situations and individuals. I might for example, approach a public art commission by creating an artwork within the landscape that is based on local people's anecdotes and histories. Working in this way provides many opportunities to work in unusual places and meet people in different communities and to create art in response to people's lives and to create art in response to people's lives and the place where they live. In another situation, I might choose to work alone, creating temporary installations that intend to surprise and delight an audience and create a sense of discovery. All the work is installation and intervention based and seeks to challenge traditional perceptions of art in public spaces. The main objective for all my practice is to create high quality contemporary artworks, which are accessible in both content and context for everyone to enjoy. As well as working as an independent artist I also work collectively, with other artists and with communities, using the arts as a forum for people to explore their own creativity. I have been able to diversify into many different areas including theatre, design forum for people to explore their own creativity.
I have been able to diversify into many different

areas including theatre, design projects, art and health projects and art festivals as well as teaching degree students and am always interested in new and innovative projects. I am also undertaking a practice led PhD, researching the impact of funding strategies on artistic practice.
